Blockbuster was an American brand providing movie and video game rental services. The brand was founded by David Cook and Wayne Huizenga in 1985. At that time, movies were expensive, and few were available. The founder saw this as an opportunity and started the business.
Blockbuster did well as there were fewer movie rental services then. The brand was on the road to success, and in 2004 had more than 80,000 employees working for them. The downside came with the rise of the internet and things like Netflix. No one was using movie rental services anymore. All the people watched Netflix, YouTube, etc., in 2014. The company announced to the world that it was ceasing all operations.
Blockbuster provided people with all kinds of movies and video games. They also delivered their services in cinemas. There was no movie that Blockbuster did not have. Stores like Blockbuster were the most demanding companies in the 80s and 90s.
