Friendlife was a social networking app developed by UK-based Massive Media that enabled users to meet each other and share their interests, activities, and experiences. Launched in 2013 as a part of the Twoo dating platform, Friendlife quickly gained popularity among those seeking new friends or an outlet to express themselves freely with like-minded individuals.
The Friendlife app enabled users to create profiles, search for users with similar interests, share updates, photos, and videos, join groups based on these interests, participate in discussions, and send private messages directly. Furthermore, it was free and available on both iOS and Android devices.
One of the distinguishing features of Friendlife was its "Life Stream" feature, enabling users to share updates about their daily activities, such as what they were eating, watching or listening to. This enabled people to connect with others who shared similar interests or hobbies as well as discover new activities and experiences.
Though Friendlife quickly gained popularity, its early years were marred by issues related to spam and fake profiles. Developers worked tirelessly to address these problems and enhance user experiences.
Massive Media was acquired by Match Group in 2016 and as a result, the Friendlife app was discontinued by Twoo in 2019, which integrated some of Friendlife's features into its platform.
Though Friendlife no longer operates, its impactful legacy remains an indicator of the revolution in social networking apps that have revolutionized how we share and interact with one another.
